The Challenge
When the COVID-19 pandemic shifted operations nationwide, CapTech — a traditionally in-office and client-site consulting firm — faced its first fully remote workforce. With consultants spread across the U.S., leadership needed a strategy to sustain engagement, morale, and productivity while preserving company culture.
The Approach
As Strategy & Research Lead, Uptown Strategy Lab’s founder guided a cross-functional initiative to redesign how employees connected and experienced culture in a work-from-home environment.
Conducted research leveraging Gartner and Forrester to analyze emerging Employee Experience (EX) trends and WFH models.
Designed a comprehensive culture strategy focused on belonging, collaboration, and recognition.
Owned and managed the Culture SharePoint hub, creating a centralized destination for all culture, engagement, and connection initiatives.
Partnered with leadership in Charlotte, NC to pilot initiatives before scaling to all U.S. offices.
The Impact
Nationwide rollout: Program expanded from the Charlotte pilot to all CapTech offices, engaging hundreds of employees.
Improved morale: Increased connection and visibility into cultural initiatives during a period of isolation.
Sustained productivity: Helped leaders maintain collaboration, well-being, and performance through targeted engagement tactics.
