The Firm
Uptown Strategy Lab is a New York City-based boutique consulting firm built on a single conviction: the quality of a strategic recommendation is only as strong as the diagnosis behind it. We help organizations understand what's actually happening — behaviorally, culturally, operationally — before they commit to a direction.
We work at the intersection of behavioral insight, experience strategy, and organizational decision-making. Our clients are leaders in government, non-profit, and technology who are navigating complexity, friction, or misalignment and want to understand it clearly before acting on it.
About the Founder
Christian Gamble
Owner & Lead Consultant · New York City
I started my career wanting to be a journalist, someone who asks the right questions, follows the evidence, and tells the truth about what's actually happening. That instinct never left me. It just moved into organizations.
Over the past decade, I've worked across Google, PwC, CapTech, and public-sector innovation, designing global CX frameworks, leading behavioral research, advising on culture strategy, and helping leadership teams make sense of complex human dynamics at scale. The through-line across all of it has been the same: most organizations are trying to solve problems they haven't fully diagnosed yet.
Uptown Strategy Lab exists because I believe that work — the diagnosis, the interpretation, the reframing — deserves to be the center of the engagement, not its preamble.
I bring a researcher's discipline, a strategist's perspective, and a practitioner's experience to every engagement. I work directly with every client. When you work with Uptown Strategy Lab, you work with me.

How We Think
We diagnose before we prescribe.
We never recommend a solution before we understand the problem. This isn't a philosophy, it's a methodology.
We center human behavior.
Systems, processes, and strategies are only as effective as the people navigating them. Every engagement starts with how people actually think, act, and experience, not how they're supposed to.
We prioritize clarity over volume.
We don't produce deliverables for their own sake. We produce clear, interpretive, actionable work that leaders can actually use.
